Workforce Development

Our community offers a wide variety of workforce development programs in and around Jefferson County.

Penn State DuBois offers a range of Associate and Bachelor’s degree programs in subjects ranging from Mechanical Engineering Technology to Information Sciences and Technology. Approximately 1,000 undergraduate students are enrolled in Penn State DuBois and there are almost 50 full time faculty members on campus.

Jeff Tech provides technical education to both high school and adults, with courses including Automotive Technology, Welding & Machine Fabrication, and Drafting, Design and Engineering. Their philosophy is to help students become life-long learners

Butler County Community College has been named the number 1 community college in Pennsylvania. It also boasts the lowest tuition and fees of any community college in PA. They offer a wide variety of Associate degrees, certificates, and training courses.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania – Punxsutawney Campus has been working  to develop its courses, programs, and options for further education in addition to expanding their dual enrollment programs for high school students. Students can now able to start and finish an associate’s degree and/or a bachelor’s degree  at IUP Punxsutawney without leaving the region.
